Coaches
Meet our great team of coaches that make our club so great:

Milly
Milly is a level 1 coach who has a background in teaching gymnastics from toddlers to adults, she is currently a student at Plymouth Marjon University.
Ellen (17)
Ellen was a gymnast with us who has also been involved in team gym, she is also a dancer. She comes back occasionally around her dancing to help out a bit.
What are we all about:
Unity Gymnastics Academy Plymouth is a brand-new Community Interest Company. We believe that gymnastics has so much to offer young people: from life skills such as goal setting and building a strong work ethic; to physical benefits like keeping fit. Having been in the sport personally since we were young, we have first-hand experience of the positive impact and family setting that this sport can offer to us.
Unfortunately there is a stigma with gymnastics that you must be a certain physical build to succeed. We disagree! At Unity, our aim is to bring people of all physical abilities and backgrounds together; we want to share with them everything that gymnastics has to offer in a safe and welcoming environment.
General Gymnastics does not have a benchmark, age, gender, race, or ability, and neither do our classes. We uphold a 'Gymnastics For All' stature and hold this at the forefront of our classes.
We currently hold recreational gymnastic classes and adult gymnastic classes. These classes are suitable for all abilities. We make sure we use the equipment we have to give each and every one an opportunity they won’t forget.
Our future:
This is just the beginning for us, in our heads we have an amazing plan to further progress our club. We believe that with our attitude towards the sport, the community, and a little help we can reach our goals and more.
Our first goal is to get started and upgrade the equipment a bit more. We are already in the process of this, we have an action plan to look at what we need, applied for grants, and have got enough equipment together to be able to teach classes in a fun, safe and wide range approach. The next set of equipment we aim to get include air tracks, more air products, foam springboards, bars, and other handheld equipment.
We would like our club in the future to be able to offer more classes aimed at disabilities by introducing classes such as rebound therapy and reach out to the schools in our area, that specialise in people with learning disabilities.
We also want to see our club grow to allow more people through our doors, upgrade the venue and offer a larger range of classes such as tumbling and competitive gymnastics. We hope to be able to bring gymnastics into schools around the area to improve physical education as well as other organsiations that share a similar sector to us such as dance schools.
